tejas

Welcome to Austin. I've been in Texas since Monday morning. We left Sunday afternoon and drove straight through. I came with the Contented Nomad to help the Oak Pollinater in the remodeling and restoration of the Oak Grove Abbey.
On Monday we removed the cabinet doors in the kitchen to prepare for stripping and sanding and refinishing. How apt that we should walk right into the Abbey and live a metaphor. We spent Tuesday morning stripping and sanding and I spent Tuesday afternoon and this morning building an actual physical 23' x 17' deck at the abbey. Is there such a thing as an internet of decks?
This morning I was out building in a tee-shirt while sweat dripped. After lunch, I had to put on two sweatshirts because the temerature had dropped so drastically.
This afternoon we cut concrete to make a drain for the driveway. It was very cold, wet, messy, noisy work and has to be finished tomorrow.
We have worked very hard and will hopefully have enough energy to do it again tomorrow.
Tonight was Chuy's for dinner and some sight-seeing of Austin culture.
So my location and activity accounts for the lack of blogging. Just wanted you to know that the entire cyberdeck crew is physically together this week lending a hand, conversing deeply and so the cyberdeck stands empty a while longer.
We'll be back this weekend so be patient.
