covered

I’m sitting on my deck at dusk
Under the darkening first blue sky in 7 days
The torrential rains have left standing puddles everywhere.
Hundreds, clouds, of mosquitoes buzz around my head and arms
Searching, searching, buzzing, circling, sniffing
Desiring to suck the life out of me.
Relentless.
They know I’m here, but they can’t find me.
I can’t be bitten.
